I have more than ten years experience running strong field operations: drilling shallow wells, well completion, running basic and special workovers, optimizing production engineering, projects management, social and government relationships management. For another ten years, I have been working as superintendent and operations manager into no conventional gas projects (coalbed methane exploration projects) in Colombia – South America: Planning, designing, evaluating the project, running lab studies and projecting market and project life. And the last 2 years I have worked as an advisor for exploration, operations and production engineering.
I have two post degrees: June 1996 Projects Evaluation Specialist Universidad del Rosario – Bogota. June 2003 I got a Msc at University of Alberta – Canada. And at the present time I am finishing a MBA from U. Sergio Arboleda, here in Colombia, to strong my technical evaluation knowledge, projects and business alternative studies plus financial, enviromental and social assessment.

Dialing to get a great exploration area, in the north of Colombia, which finally, it was assigned by the Colombian government to the company, and the deal was finished in partnership with the National Oil petroleum company from Turkia, the investment in the project is biggest to Us$44,5 million. In this year I have worked as a company man for Amerisur Colombia in their wells.

Since December 2007 I moved, inside the same group, to manage an exploration and production project inside Kappa Resources which is a company from the same group. The biggest responsibility is to recover two exploration areas which produced at the beginning but collapsed due to paraffin production, all the recovery work was run successfully doing chemical work to clean the areas, now the area is fully procuring excellent oil volume.

Coalbed Methane project from La Guajira Colombia. The main responsibility was to design drilling wells near the coal mine, so I had to decide with the mining geologist the location for the CBM wells, then complete the wells, and plan production testing. As well I had to present real budget and supervise the operations expenses to be inside the programmed budgets. I was who sold the project to Drummond Ltd which initially was run by Geomet Inc, since 1994 to 2005.

In this project I began to work in Coalbed Methane (CBM) projects in Colombia and USA. It was ran by Geomet Inc from Alabama represented in Colombia by Andina Electrica y Gas EU. I was the field engineer, working in drilling the pilot wells for exploration of CBM (Gas) in the best coal zone of Colombia where the coal cores gave us the biggest gas contain. The project run 2 pilot test which included 11 wells which were successfully tested. This project was inside a big open pit coal mine project so I had to manage projects relations and technical evaluations with the coal mine people in order to keep the wells far away from the mining project The last position I had before the project was purchased by Drummond Ltd.
